Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL Process

The RPL Process is quite involved and will require you to:

  • Request the RPL Kit from Student Support by emailing them at support@iap.edu.au
  • You will need to complete the RPL Kit and supply as much evidence as you can to support your claims in the kit (the responsibility for supplying evidence and matching that evidence to each of the unit's performance criteria is fully on you)
  • A non-refundable assessment fee of $500 (the assessment will not be made until the fee is paid) for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is required at the time of submission of your completed RPL application. Please note that there are no reductions in fees or refunds for any units awarded through the RPL process."
  • The assessor may require you to provide more information and/or answer questions etc. in order to complete the RPL assessment, so do not be surprised if you are asked for more information or to complete certain tasks.
  • You should not start your studies until the assessment has been made, however you will have access to your course and all the units if you did wish to commence without knowing the outcome of the assessment.

PLEASE NOTE: RPL Assessments normally take 60-90 days to be assessed from the

time we receive your completed RPL Kit.

Once completed we will notify you through your student portal.

Any approved RPL does not mean a reduction in the course fee you are paying or have paid. It might however reduce the time you take to complete your course.

Cross Credit or Credit Transfer

Cross credit or Credit Transfer (CT) is a less involved process of crediting previously completed equivalent accredited units. In order to apply for CT, you must download and complete the Cross Credit Application (click here) and send it along with evidence of your previous studies to Student Support (support@iap.edu.au). Please remember to include copies of your transcripts (not just the certificate/diploma) in order for the assessment to proceed.

If the link above does not work for you, simply email support@iap.edu.au requesting a Cross Credit Application and they will email it to you.

Any approved cross-credit does not mean a reduction in the course fee you are paying or have paid. It might however reduce the time you take to complete your course.

Cross Credit assessment is free.
